Crime doesn't pay...(Finale)

Mental handcuffs

President John Adams is credited with having said "We are a nation of laws, not men."  As a young man, I struggled to understand the scope of that statement.  Youth, it would seem, blinds you to the understanding of anything greater than self.  Time, as always, brings age, and age, sometimes, brings wisdom.

If you were living on an island by yourself, it would be completely up to you as to what behavior was acceptable.  Simple.  If one day, a raft floated to your island with another person on it, the rules would obviously need to change to accommodate the inclusion of the new person.  Why?  Welp, so that you didn't end up killing each other over disputes.  Simple.

That's what I think that Adams meant.  In order for people to live harmoniously in close proximity and an organized society, the law would necessarily be more important than any one man.  Kingdoms operate differently.  The one man (the King) had more power than any law.  Simple.

As human beings, we have an understanding that good and evil exists in the world.  The enforcement of proper laws helps keep evil at bay.  Simple.

The punishment should fit the CRIME.  Simple.

With all of the aforementioned things being simple, how is it that we've gotten so screwed up?  Once again, simple.  It's the purposeful, intentional, directed bastardization of the framework the Founders left us with.  The checks and balances of the Constitution have been neutered and made cuckhold to the whims and wishes of a small group that herds, controls, and RULES the masses.  It's just my view, but I don't think that the Framers ever contemplated the idea that all 3 branches of the checked and balanced government would work in sync to undermine the freedoms of the people.  They feared a coalescence of power by any one branch.  They feared what they called "factionism".  But what if the whole of the new government went awry?  Welp, while they didn't appear to be as much afraid of it, they did put one relief valve in place for the people to address it (two, if you count the Second Amendment).  That is, of course, Article V, the part that allows for amendments.  Without sounding too crass, good luck with that!  Ain't gonna happen.

So where does that leave us, as individuals, when it comes to CRIME?  Currently, quite frankly, we are at it's mercy.  If current laws are not being enforced (think: border security and illegal immigration), not enforced evenly and fairly (think: 2008 stock market crash), are made up on-the-fly (think: the 1000 or so people prosecuted for the January 6th debacle), are set by unaccountable ghostly swamp creatures (think:  the menagerie that is the Department of Education or the EPA), where and how does the freedom and liberty of Joe and Joan Sixpack get restored?  And lest we forget, CRIME is also a tool used by the power elite to inflame, incite, and enslave the people and separate them into self-serving tribes.  How do you know?  Trust your eyes.

George Carlin said that laws are written to control the middle class, not the rich, and the poor are kept that way to scare the shit outta the middle class.  Took me awhile to wrap my head around that one.  But what if George was right?  What if it's no accident in political science when you look around today and see people commit crimes, get released without bail the same day, and go back out and commit MORE CRIME before the sun goes down for the day?  Is it merely coincidence that people convicted of heinous crimes are given sentences that are insufficient and then paroled after only serving a little over half of it anyway?  Is it happenstance that the current government is allowing MILLIONS of people to commit a crime while taking their first breath inside the US by slipping through our border control apparatus?  How about the thousands and thousands of kilos of fentanyl and other drugs being shipped across that very same border along with the criminals that mule them in?  CRIME is being used as a cudgel to literally beat the American people into submission and compliance.  How about illegal mandates, curfews, and lockdowns that cost the taxpayers BILLIONS of dollars, loss of jobs, bankruptcy of their businesses, and tens of thousands of lives?  I refuse to believe that all of these things are just being fettered about without some sort of goal in mind and, if you are a thinking person, you SHOULD be questioning them as well.

Crime doesn't pay, or so you have been told.  Unless, of course, the power elite carve out an exception for a criminal of their liking.  Then, it's OK and pays quite well.  When the stock market crashed in 2008, it's been estimated that the American people lost HALF of their wealth.  Nobody went to jail.  In the election of 2016, a court ruled that the Hillary Clinton campaign was responsible for instigating the so-called "Russia, Russia, Russia" conspiracy against Donald Trump.  Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent in the subsequent 5+ years investigating what the government KNEW to be a lie.  Nobody in the campaign went to jail.  A slew of people have died from narcotic overdose secondary to the fraudulent marketing of Oxycontin.  Families were destroyed.  Billions of dollars have been spent and lost, and NOBODY in the Sackler family went to jail.  Corporations loot hundreds of billions of dollars from Americans every year in a myriad of schemes, lies, fraud, and negligence.  Nobody goes to jail.  These are all CRIMES, folks.

I have said many times previously that, as Americans, we are ruled at the point of a gun by the power elite.  My more leftish friends always say that's an extreme statement.  They think we are free and all is well with the world.  I tell them "Don't pay your taxes for a couple years and see if the cat that shows up at your door to take you to jail isn't packing heat."  That is, unless you are well connected or a relative of a prominent politician.  Then, you plea down to a misdemeanor and pay a fine.  Equal justice under the law can't just be a bumper sticker ready platitude that gets bandied about.  It's either true or it's not true.  The 14th Amendment can't just be a suggestion.  Right now, it's being treated like it was written by Jefferson on a bar napkin and carries about as much wait as the wisdom inscribed on a Bazooka Joe comic.

Crime isn't just an arbitrary construct.  The creation of fair and just laws, along with the equal enforcement of the same HAS TO BE the number one priority of the electorate.  As anyone can plainly see, without it (and the subsequent loss of freedom and liberty), not a whole lot else matters.  You can just keep your eyes closed if you want.  You can just keep voting for whatever your party affiliation feeds you like so much Gerber baby food.  You can continue to drink the proverbial Kool-Aid that the corporate media puppeteers give you.  It's up to you.  You can watch, with your own eyes, as you leave a lesser country, and diminished life, a meaker existence, and a meager future for your children and grandchildren.  You can do nothing and just let it all continue to happen on your watch.  And that would truly be....a CRIME.
