It's not politics, it's life...

Something to think about...

I am constantly reminded about a conversation I had with a really good friend years ago.  I asked the friend if they had ever read from my website.  The friend said "Oh, your political blog?"  After countless hours and hundreds of pages of my particular view on things, the friend saw this website as nothing more than a "political blog".  In numerous articles, I had touched on everyday things that happen in people's everyday lives.  Relationships.  Love.  Marriage.  Race.  Wealth.  Success.  Failure.

And still, the friend saw it as no more than a "political blog".  After an untold number of days in reflection, it came to me.  Modern politics IS life.  Not because WE say it should be, but because the power elite have made it so.  They have weaved virtually every aspect of life into the political realm.  I am no Don Quixote.  I won't joust with windmills, nor will I shout at the wind.  I will simply say this.  Regardless of whether you are an "R", a "D",  an "L", or "I", if you let your personal convictions drive your politics, you won't feel used on the day after the election.  You will never have buyers remorse when the party to which you have affiliated yourself with takes a position you vehemently disagree with.

Allow yourself a few moments of reflection.  Take the prerequisite amount of time to do an accounting of your core beliefs.  Then do the research as to what party most accurately reflects the views that you base on logic, truth, reason, and fact.  As opposed to the party that panders to your emotional weaknesses, this will better help you navigate your way through the morass that is politics in 2020.
